The 82,000 sq. ft. Engineering Development Center includes the following state-of-the-art laboratories: advanced propulsion, nanotechnology, urban infrastructure research, interdisciplinary MEMS/NEMS, and team-based student project laboratories. The facility also includes a 15,000 sq. ft. Smart Sensors and Integrated Microsystems (SSIM) area with a Class 1000 clean room. A modular design approach for lab spaces was used to enable future flexibility. The project was entirely 3D enabled; the 3D master models are now used as part of the university’s engineering curriculum. This facility is LEED Silver Certified.
