ENR: First Solar’s Ohio Modular Manufacturing Plant Will Be Nation’s Largest

First Solar’s new module manufacturing plant – which recently broke ground in Lake Township, Ohio – was featured in the Engineering News-Record “Top 500 Sourcebook” as part of a discussion on manufacturing sector trends. The 1.1 million SF plant will be the single largest thin-film solar module manufacturing facility in the U.S. when it’s completed in late 2019.

Ghafari is providing programming, planning, architecture, and interior design services for the new facility, which will have the capacity to produce 1.2 gigawatts of First Solar’s new, large-format Series 6 modules each year.
