Gary Jet Center Celebrates Opening of Corporate Flight Center

On October 25, the Gary Jet Center celebrated the opening of a new Corporate Flight Center, part of their fixed base operation at the Gary / Chicago International Airport in Northwest Indiana (25 minutes outside of downtown Chicago).

Ghafari provided comprehensive architecture and engineering services for the 8,300 SF building, which features a luxurious, glass-walled lobby with seating for over 45, an espresso bar, and unobstructed views of the recently expanded 9,000-foot runway. The Flight Center also provides three crew lounges, a crew kitchen, and laundry facilities, as well as private phone and sleep rooms and a conference room available to passengers and crews. The new Flight Center is positioned on the airport’s west campus, which is also home to two 40,000 SF hangars, both of which were designed by Ghafari.

Ghafari team members took part in a grand opening celebration on October 25, which was attended by over 200 officials, customers, employees, partners, and vendors.
