Q+A with Hassan Khaliefa, Electrical Designer (Dearborn)
How do you describe your job to people outside of the industry?
As an electrical designer, my job is to design the power distribution system that provides the appropriate amount of electricity to a building. This ensures that all functions, such as lighting, elevators, process equipment, heating, and cooling, operate safely and efficiently.
Why did you decide to become an electrical designer?
I became an electrical designer because I've always been fascinated by how things work, especially when it comes to electricity. I was curious about how we power everything around us: homes, buildings, and even entire cities.
How would you describe life at Ghafari?
Working for Ghafari has been a fantastic experience. There are always plenty of learning opportunities, especially when it comes to the projects I work on. Each project helps me develop new tools, gain knowledge, and acquire skill sets that I can use in future work.
What is the most exciting thing that has happened during your time here?
The variety and challenge keep things exciting and push me to grow both professionally and personally. What really stands out though is the team. I get to collaborate with a diverse group of like-minded people from different backgrounds.
What is a key idea or lesson you have learned while working at Ghafari?
One of the most important lessons I've learned at Ghafari is the value of building strong relationships with clients and staying actively engaged throughout the process. It’s not just about delivering a project, it’s about understanding the client's needs, listening to their feedback, and ensuring that we’re aligned with their goals every step of the way.
How do you like to spend your free time?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and being around good company, which keeps life fun and balanced.
