Overview

Ferrero North America (Ferrero), a leading purveyor of chocolate and confections, engaged Ghafari to design a new chocolate processing facility at their Bloomington, Illinois location. It will be the Ferrero Group’s third facility that processes chocolate, and their first outside of Europe.

Tailoring the Solution

A global concept adapted to local codes.

Ghafari provided architectural and engineering design services for the bid documents associated with the project and will assist with construction management. The new facility is an expansion of Ferrero’s existing Bloomington space and will produce chocolate for CRUNCH, Raisinets, and other Ferrero products. The $75 million project will increase the current footprint by 70,000 SF and will add a number of jobs. As one of Ferrero’s first new construction programs in the U.S., the project required our team to adapt their international building standards to adhere to the local market and codes.
