Ford commissioned our team to modernize the existing south office of the New Model Programs Development Center (NMPDC) to support the diverse needs of their team members looking to return to the office.
Ford envisioned a flexible, high-tech environment, which required a design that would meet a myriad of programmatic requirements while separating the office space from manufacturing functions. Our design team achieved this objective through proper access control and close attention to planning layouts. Additional challenges included a lack of existing drawing documentation for the building. The project team visited the site numerous times to capture the facility using our high-definition laser scanner during pre-construction, as well as after demolition to assist in the design and coordination of various disciplines.
The renovation encompasses 96,000 SF of open design that provides more natural light, collaboration spaces to support a range of group-oriented activities, hundreds of individual workstations with sit-stand desks, and manufacturing team spaces.
